I went from 0 to 100 with Critical Role — one week I wasn't sure if I'd like it, and the next week I was listening to the podcast version 10 hours at a time. I loved Jester from the moment she was introduced, which is why I overruled my aversion to bodypaint and got started on the cosplay immediately for a DragonCon 2018 debut.

I love combining classic pin-up art with cosplay! I chose three paintings by classic pin-up artist Gil Elvgren to base these Jester photos on.
This costume has more than twenty separate pieces, making it one of the most detail-heavy costumes I've ever created. I made nearly everything from scratch (excluding the boots, the horns and belts [which were modified], and the petticoat) in just over a month. My favorite part is probably the tail, which is attached to my glove via fishing line so it moves when I move! For more detail about the construction, check out my Twitter WIP thread.
I wanted to do some festive Jester-ing for the holidays, so I commissioned ToughTink to design a winter Jester outfit! Then I made a costume based on her design and featured it in this music video inspired by the holiday classic “White Christmas.”
